Appointments and Admissions
From Consultation to Booking: A Comprehensive Guide to Procedures and Documents Required for Admission
Scheduling an Admission
To be admitted to Villa Santa Chiara, a preliminary consultation with one of the facility’s specialists is required to evaluate the appropriateness of the therapeutic pathway.
Admission requests can be submitted by the patient, family members, a General Practitioner (GP), a specialist, or another mental health facility.
Once admission is deemed appropriate, the notification is forwarded to the Admissions Office, which will contact the patient to arrange the date and details of entry. The request is placed on a waiting list.
For information and inquiries, the Admissions Office can be contacted Monday through Friday, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, via the switchboard.
Our facility offers various admission options to meet the different needs of our patients. Care can be accessed through the following options:
Accredited Admission (S.S.N. Agreement)This is the standard admission option in agreement with the National Health Service (S.S.N.). All healthcare, diagnostic, and treatment services are fully covered by the S.S.N.
Admission with Accommodation UpgradeThis option combines the benefits of S.S.N. coverage with greater comfort. While medical care remains covered by the National Health Service, the patient can request—by paying a supplementary fee—additional services, such as accommodation in a superior room.
Private Admission (Self-Pay)This option, also defined as “non-accredited regime,” implies that all hospitalization costs, including both medical care and accommodation, are entirely borne by the patient.
For patients admitted under the National Health Service (SSN) agreement, it is possible to choose a higher level of accommodation comfort by paying a supplementary fee. This option, known as an “accommodation upgrade” (differenza alberghiera), does not affect medical services, which remain covered by the SSN.
The available accommodations are:
-
Standard Accredited Room The standard accommodation in a three-bed room, the cost of which is fully covered by the National Health Service.
-
Two-Bed Room with Additional Comforts This option requires a fee payable by the patient and includes additional services such as:
-
TV in the room
-
Breakfast served in the room
-
Choice of menu
-
-
Single Room with Superior Comfort For maximum privacy and comfort, this accommodation includes all the services of the two-bed room, with the addition of a personal towel set. The fee is entirely borne by the patient.
Diagnostic and treatment activities are entrusted to medical specialists, supported by psychologists, nursing staff, and healthcare workers with specific training in mental health.
For inpatients, the facility features an internal analysis laboratory and provides cardiology consultations.
For further instrumental investigations—such as CT scans, X-rays, MRIs, and other diagnostic tests—the facility utilizes agreements with accredited external centers.
The attending physician will present the discharge letter to the patient, drafted based on the information contained in the medical record.
At the end of the course of treatment, the patient is also given an invitation letter for a follow-up visit, scheduled for one month after discharge and held at the facility’s outpatient clinic.
Discharges generally take place in the morning. Patients are requested to vacate their room by 10:00 AM.
The Patient Relations Office receives suggestions and complaints from users, with the goal of constantly improving the quality of services offered.
Through feedback, it is possible to bring potential malfunctions, or difficulties in accessing or receiving services, to the attention of Department Heads and Management. It is also possible to propose suggestions for improvement or express appreciation for the service received.
Complaints can be submitted directly to the URP (Patient Relations Office), located at the Administration Office. The designated staff will initiate the procedure to handle the report.
